ZWEIMEN

State : Sachsen-Anhalt
District (Kreis) : Saalekreis (until 2008 Merseburg-Querfurt)
Incorporated into : 2010 Leuna

Wappen von Zweimen / Arms of Zweimen
Official blazon
German In Rot ein silberner Schrägrechtsbalken, begleitet von silbernen schrägrechten Lindenblättern (1:2).
English No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 11, 1996.

Zweimen had no historical seals or arms, so the arms were based on the arms of the medieval family Von Zweymen (known since 1290 and extinct in the 18th century). The arms of the family, however, were identical to the Von Kotzschen family, which was already used by the neighbouring village Kötzschau. The arms thus show the same elements (bend and linden leaves), but in a different composition.
