Incorporated into : 1994 Mittlerer Erzgebirgskreis (2008 Erzgebirgskreis)
Origin/meaning
The arms were designed in 1991, but never officially granted.
The tools in the second quarter show the importance of mining in the Erzgebirge (ore-mountains). The tree symbolises the many forests and timber industry in the district. The wheel and rivers symbolises both the former water mills in the Zschopau river as well as the more recent industries in the district.
