Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 20, 1965.

The arms show an image of St. Walburga (Walpurgis), the oldest patron saint of the local church. The red bar symbolises the historcal Königstrasse (royal road), on which the village was situated. The colours are based on the arms of the Lords von Fürstenberg, former rulers of the village.

Literature: Belke et al., 1986
