Origin/meaning

The upper part shows the wheel of the State of Mainz, to which Worbis belonged from the 16th century 1806. The lower part shows the arms of the Counts of Beichlingen, who uled the city in the 13th century. When the city rights were renewed in 1682 the wheel of Mainz was added to the older arms.
