Origin/meaning

The oldest seal of the town dates from the middle of the 14th century and already shows the roe. The small mountain appeared in the 17th century. The colours are known since 1562. All later seals and images have shown the roe, although in the 19th century the animal often resembled other species of deer. The meaning or origin of the animal is not known.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
