Origin/meaning
The arms show an oak branch over a wavy bar. The bar represents the local river, the Ortsbach. The oak leaf is a canting element; the name Wollingst (or Wollingstede) meand forest-stead. As oak forests are the most common in the area, an oak leaf was chosen as the symbol of the village.
