WILDALPEN

State : Steiermark
District : Liezen

Wappen von Wildalpen

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 23, 1966.

The arms are canting: Wildalpen is a municipality in the chalk mountains range in Upper Styria; these mountains are impressive, even "wild". The Vienna water supply (Wiener Hochquellenwasserleitung) starts in these mountains. This was represented in the arms, as were the ibex, of which there is a fairly strong population here.
