WIEN-SPITTELBERG
State : Wien (Vienna)
Origin/meaning :
Spittelberg takes its name from "Spitalberg", i.e., "hospital hill". The arms with the Imperial orb on a blue rock and the Holy Spirit with a golden halo were taken from the seal of the Vienna Burghers' Hospital located here. The area was bought by the hospital after 1525, today's spelling goes back to the early 19th century.
