Origin/meaning

The arms of Schottenfeld show a "Scottish" (more likely Irish) Benedictine monk. The area, formerly named "Oberneustift" was not developed before the 19th century and originally belonged to the Benedictine monastery of the "Schotten" (Schottenkloster).
