Official blazon
- (1819) Van goud beladen met een zwarte klimmenden leeuw, het schild vastgehouden ter regter zijde door St. Gommaer en ter linker zijde door St. Jan.
- (1840) Eenen gulden schild, met eenen zwarten klimmenden leeuw, den schild rustende: ter regter zyde op eenen Heyligen Gommarus en ter linker zyde op eenen Heylige Joannes - Baptista, naer het leven, alles rustende op eene groene hoogte.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 6, 1819 and again on November 30, 1840.
The origin of the lion in the arms is not known. The two supporters indicate that in the early 19th century the village belonged to the St. Gomarus parish in Herenthout and St. John Baptist was the patron saint of the local school.
