German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

WESSELING

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Erft Kreis (until 1975 Köln)

Wappen von Wesseling

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1937 and again on June 2nd, 1977.

The arms are based on the seal of the Niederwesseling Estate, known from the 14th century. The lion is the lion of the Counts of Berg, who ruled the area for many centuries. The 'tree-of-life' as it is described, is of unknown origin.
