Origin/meaning
The arms show a tree, taken from the only historical seal of the town, dating from 1645. The tree most likely is a beech and thus canting (Buche=beech). In the 1809 a second seal appears with a divided shield, right a mountain with sun, left a forest. The forest can either rbe canting, or refer to the Unterspreewald forest.
