WEISWEILER

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Aachen
Incorporated into : 1971 Eschweiler

Wappen von Weisweiler/Arms (crest) of Weisweiler
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1959.

The arms show the local castle which for many centuries was a possession of the Von Palant family, whose arms showed the gold and black bars.

The British Museum holds a seal of the local council from the 18th (?) century, showing different arms and the local patron saint, Severinus of Köln.
