===Origin/meaning===
Weilheim received city rights in 1319 from Count Ulrich of Aichelberg, and the oldest seal dates from the same time. The seal showed the key as a symbol of St. Peter, the patron saint of the city. The deer antler, taken from the arms of [[Württemberg]] was added in the 17th century, even though the city had become part of Württemberg in 1334. At first the antler was shown over the key, since 1639 separately in the chief. The arms have not been changed since.

Origin/meaning

Weilheim received city rights in 1319 from Count Ulrich of Aichelberg, and the oldest seal dates from the same time. The seal showed the key as a symbol of St. Peter, the patron saint of the city. The deer antler, taken from the arms of Württemberg was added in the 17th century, even though the city had become part of Württemberg in 1334. At first the antler was shown over the key, since 1639 separately in the chief. The arms have not been changed since.
