Arms (crest) of Wallaceburg

Official blazon

Arms: Gules a pall wavy Argent voided wavy Azure between in chief a coronet erablé in dexter base an Ojibwa turtle and in sinister base a lion rampant Argent armed and langued Azure holding in its paws a cinquefoil Ermine;
Crest: A mural coronet Azure masoned Argent;
Motto: ONWARD AND UPWARD;


Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 15, 1997.

The arms of Wallaceburg feature the forks of the Sydenham River, at which the town is located. I have no information on the meaning of the other elements in these arms. Any information is welcome !
