Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 30, 1960.

The arms are canting; the lower part shows a tree for the Wald- (forest) part of the name. The two eagles are those of the Counts and County of Leiningen. The village belonged to the Leiningen County until 1793. The axe symbolises the fact that the village was founded in the 19^th century as a village for wood workers.
