Wapen van Vreren/Coat of arms (crest) of Vreren

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 12, 1965.

The seals of the parish and court of Vreren historically showed either the local patron saint, St. Medardus, or St. Lambertus, bishop of Liège, as the village belonged to the diocese of Liège. As it was not clear which bishop was shown on the selas, the blazon simply states a 'bishop'.
