Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 21, 2002.

The rose in the arms is the symbol of the local patron saint, Our Lady of the Conception. The oak tree represents the many oak forests in the region, which made a tanning industry possible. The two tools are iron tools used in cleaning and tanning hides. The base shows the Alviela and Carvalha rivers in the municipality.
