Region : Catalonia
Province : Girona

Vilasacra.jpg

Official blazon

Escut caironat: de sinople, un castell de sable obert acostat de 2 rodes d'or. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 5th July 1994.

The arms show the local castle (11th century), that belonged to the Cruïlles. The monks of Sant Pere de Rodes bought it in 1240, and this monastery is symbolized on the arms by the two wheels ("rodes" in Catalan).
