The arms were granted on October 19, 2012.

The cape buffalo refers to the buffalo herding and cheese making of the villagers. The grape leaf is a canting element and the urn refers to the archaeological site in the area and another occupation of the inhabitants, pottery.

The chevron symbolises the landscape.
