VERBANDSGEMEINDE ARZFELD
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm (until 1969 Prüm)
German | Schild schwarz bordiert. Unter einem durch obengezinnten blauen Balken abgeteilten, goldenen Schildhaupt gespalten; vorne von Silber und Blau fünfmal geteilt, hinten in Gold ein roter Sparrenbalken. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 13, 1972.
The chief refers to the Dasburg castle, a possession of the Orange-Nassau family for a long time, hence the blue and gold colours of Nassau.
The lower half shows the arms of the bars of the Dukes of Luxembourg and the red bar of the Counts of Manderscheid, as most of the region historically belonged to Luxemburg and Manderschied.
