Portuguese Escudo de verde, dois peixes de prata postos em cortesia; em chefe, meio touro de ouro; em campanha, poço de prata, lavrado de negro, com balde suspenso de ouro. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas : “ UNHOS “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 1, 1999.

The golden bull is the symbol of St. Silvestris, the local patron saint. The two fish refer to the importance of fishing for the parish. The base shows a well, symbol for the many ancient wells that can be found in the parish.
