(de) Gespalten von Gold und Rot: Vorn ein mit drei silbernen Pfählen belegter roter Balken; hinten eine goldumwickelte silberne Spindel über einem goldenen Blitz.

Origin/meaning

The arms were devised in 1969 and show in the right half the arms of the Von der Recke family who owned large parts of the municipality in the Middle Ages. Left are a spinner as a symbol of the textile industry and a lightning as a symbol for the large power station in the municipalityThe arms are now used of the Bezirk Uentrop of the city of Hamm.
