The griffin is also part of the arms of the cities [[Ueckermünde]] and [[Penkun]]. The eagle forms part of the arms of the city of [[Strasburg]]. The tower symbolises the large tower in the capital of the district, [[Pasewalk]]. The blue waves symbolise the Oderhaf, the Northern coast of the district, as well as the rivers Uecker and Randow.
