TYCHY

Province: Śląsk
County: Free urban district

Arms of Tychy
Official blazon
Polish blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 2000.

The hunting horn refers to the historical hunting castle of the Princes of Pszczyna in the village. The horn already appeared on a seal from 1723.

Until 1950 the arms remained basically unchanged, a golden horn on blue. In 1950, with the expansion of the city, the horn was made black, see below.

In 1967 totally new arms were designed, showing a brick wall and miner's tools. These arms were officially used until 2000, but already in the 1990s the use of the golden horn became more common.
