Origin/meaning
The village of Trzebinia has existed since the Middle Ages (first written records come from the 12th century). In 1817 it became a town and later an important industrial and railway centre.
The 19th century coat of arms was re-adopted in 1990 and is based on earlier arms. It consists of a six-pointed star, a crescent and a Maltese cross, all golden against the blue background.
From 1977-1990 the town used different arms, see below. These arms combined the Polish eagle with an industrial hammer, which, at the same time, formed half the town's initial.
In the 1930s th etiwn used a miner in its arms.
