Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1964.

The right half shows the arms of the Gross von Trockau family, who have lived in the local castle since 1316 and who played a major role in the local history. The raven and ring in the left half of the arms are the symbols of St. Oswald, the local patron saint. The gold and black also are the colours of the State of Bamberg to which the are historically belonged until 1803.
