TRANCOZELOS

Municipality : Penalva do Castelo
District : Viseu

Brasão de Trancozelos

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 16, 2002.

The arms show the local bridge, a typical landmark for the parish. The cross refers to the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, to which a local monastery belonged.
The wavy bar is taken from the arms of Penalva do Castelo. The purple colour refers to the importance of viticulture for the area, which is known for its red wines.
