TOURAINE

Province : Quebec
Incorporated into : 1974 Gatineau

Touraine.jpg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were not officially granted.

The upper part shows the Gatineau river and the hills surrounding the river. The sun is the symbol for the new town, built along the river.
The three leaves in the lower right quarter symbolise the three parts of the municipality, each with a different background, but still belonging together.
The hand and cross indicate the importance of the Christian religion to the people.
