Official blazon

In Silber über grünem Wellenschildfuß ein blauer Karpfen, darüber schwebend ein schwarzes Tatzenhochkreuz, begleitet von zwei schräg nach außen gewendeten, grün-gestielten natürlichen Wasserlilien mit goldenen Blüten.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 23, 2009.

The arms, but without the cross, are already known since the 14th century. The meaning is not clear, but probably simply indicates the fact that the city was situated near a lake and fishing was an important activity at the time. The cross was added only in the 17th century.
