SUBIRATS
Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona
Official blazon
Escut caironat: de sinople, un mont d'or movent de la punta carregat de 4 pals de gules i somat d'un castell de sable obert. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.
Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 12th July 1988.
The castle on a hill is the traditional sign on the arms of the village, and it represents the ancient castle of Subirats (10th century), now in ruins. The royal arms of Catalonia-Aragon (four pales Gules on Or) remind the jurisdiction of the counts-kings over the village.
