Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 28, 1958.
The arms show St. Vitus, patron saint of the Herrieden Abbey, to which the village historically belonged. After 1803 the village became a possession of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach, who are represented by the quartered shield of their family arms (Hohenzollen).
