Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 5, 1925. The new arms above have not been granted officially.

The arms are those of the Froidcourt family, first known Lords of Stoumont . The arms also appear on the seals of the local council from 1537.

In 1925 the arms were granted with St. Mary, the local patron saint, as supporter, see below. These were abolished after 1977, but the arms were not re-granted or confirmed.
