Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 7, 1880.

The arms show the arms of the Stolberg-Frenz-Setterich family, which is know since the 13th century. The Stolberg dynsaty belonged to the higher German nobility. The seals of the town never showed the arms of the Stolberg family, but showed the Holy Trinity.
