STEINFELD

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Vechta
center

Origin/meaning :
The arnms were officially granted on September 23, 1931.

The arms of Steinfeld were granted in 1931 and show in the first and fourth quarter the arms of the former State and Prussian province of Oldenburg. At the time, Steinfeld was part of Oldenburg. The second quarter shows St. John, with the Lamb, the patron saint of the town. The third quarter shows some stones, which are a canting element (Stein=stone).
Before 1931 the village did not use any arms, but the local seal showed some stones.
