Origin/meaningThe town of Niederlauringen became a city in 1475 and subsequently changed its name to Stadlauringen. The oldest known seal, which dates from 1520, already shows the arms, as does the second seal from the 17th century. The colours are known since 1544, but during the last century the colours were silver and blue, the colours of Bavaria.
