Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 4, 1976.

The red and blue colours are derived from the arms of the Kemptem Abbey, which had many possessions in the area until 1803. The golden star is taken from the arms of the city of Kaufbeuren, as the city had the lower jurisdiction in the village. The sword and palm leaf are the symbols of the local patron saints, Gordianus and Epimachus. The crosier is taken from the arms of the local priest, Johannes Martin Klein, who founded the local parish church.
