Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 30, 1974.
The municipality historically belonged to the diocese and State of Regensburg (Kastemamt Hohenburg) and the church of Rieden. The silver bend is taken from the arms of the State of Regensburg. The crossed keys are the symbol of St. Peter, patron saint both of Rieden and Soyen.
