Origin/meaning

The arms were officially registered in 1966.

The arms show the geographical situation of the municipality on the tip of the island of Falster, surrounded by the sea. The green colour symbolises the fertile soil in the municipality. The swan is taken from the arms of the historical Falster Søndre herred.
