SISSELN

Canton : Aargau

Wappen von Sisseln/Arms (crest) of Sisseln

Official blazon

In Grün weisser Schräglinksfluss mit Einmündung vom linken Schildfuss her, im rechten Obereck schräggestelltes dreizackiges weisses Fischspeereisen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on November 2, 1949.

The wavy bends symbolise the Rhein and its tributary, the smaller Sissle. The fork is a tool used by the salmon fishers, and indicates the historical importance of salmon fishing for the village.
