Geteilt von Gold und Silber; oben ein aus der Teilungslinie wachsender, rot bewehrter schwarzer Bär mit schwarzem Baum auf der Schulter, unten ein grünes Lindenblatt.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 19, 1966.

The arms symbolise the two historical rulers over the territory. The bear is the symbol of St. Gallus and thus for the St. Gallen Abbey. The linden leaf symbolises the city of Lindau.
