Origin/meaningThe arms were granted on April 25, 1610 by Margrave Christian of Brandenburg-Bayreuth. The arms were again granted on September 28, 1837. The arms thus never changed since 1610. The arms are simply canting, and show the Saale (Bach=stream) river.
