Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 6, 1996.

The arms were designed after the merger of the five municipalities. The pine tree refers to the forests in the municipality, the five rows of branches symbolise the five former municipalities. The right half shows a silver pale, that symbolises the Schleuse river. The division of the pale symbolises again the five municipalities. The shape of the pale symbolises a letter S, the initial of the municipality.
