SCHACHTERBICH

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Eichsfeld

Schachte.jpg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 27, 1995.

The name probably is derived from Schilfrohrbach, or reed-stream, which is symbolised by the wavy division (Bach, stream), the two reeds (Rohr, or Schilfrohr) and the fish. The whole also symbolises the historical marshes around the village.
The mitre symbolises St. Magnus, the patron saint of the village.
