Escut caironat partit: 1r. d'argent, una palma de sinople posada en pal enfilada d'una corona de flors de gules fullades de sinople; 2n. faixat d'or i de gules de 6 peces. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 19th May 1987.

The palm and the laurel wreath are the attributes of the martyr St. Eugenia, the local patron saint. The second partition shows the arms of the counts of Empúries, lords of the village.
