Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 29th January 1988.

Canting arms: they show a "mont alt" (Catalan for "high mount"). The saltire and the millstone are the attributes of St. Vincent, the local patron saint. The royal arms of Catalonia-Aragon (four pales Gules on Or) remind the jurisdiction of the Crown over the village (Sant Vicenç de Montalt had belonged to the royal castle of Mata until the 16^th century, when it obtained a separated municipality).
