SANT ISCLE DE VALLALTA

Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona

Escudo de Sant Iscle de Vallalta/Arms (crest) of Sant Iscle de Vallalta
Official blazon
Catalan Escut caironat: d'argent, una vall de sinople sobremuntada d'una rosa de gules botonada d'or i barbada de sinople. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 15th September 1993.

The rose is the attribute of St. Iscle (or Acisclus, a 4th century martyr), the local patron saint, and the valley is a canting sign: the name Vallalta is derived from "vall alta", Catalan for "high valley".
