Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 1st, 1987.

The arms are canting. The staff of the great pilgrim, the apostle Jacobus Maior, is the sole charge in the shield. The lines of partition at the flanks attempt to represent the wood with linden-leaves and sprigs of fir.
