Wappen von Salz (Unterfranken)/Arms (crest) of Salz (Unterfranken)
Official blazon
German

In Silber über einem schmalen blauen Wellenbalken eine rote Krone, unten ein schwarzer Zickzackbalken.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 4, 1973.

The crown in the upper half is an Imperial crown, as Emperor Charlemagne had one of his palaces (Pfalz) in the village. The wavy division line symbolises the salty springs in the village that gave its name (Salz=salt) and which are now used as a spa and health resort.

The lower half is taken from the arms of Voit von Salzburg, who played a major role in the development of the village.
