Origin/meaning

The first quarter shows three hands, taken from the arms of the 14th century Lords of Saint-Laurent, who lived at the local castle. The second quarter shows a fire. It refers both to the fire on which the martyr Saint Lawrence was grilled to death, and to the fire in the village of 1364. The third quarter shows the arms of the shoemaker's guild of Lyon, as many villagers worked as shoemakers in the city in historical times. The fourth quarter shows the hand of St. Vincent, patron saint of vintners and symbolises the importance of viticulture for the area.
